Research

Why do I love research or adore researchers?

Every technology, system and medicine birth forth from research! Some times we might even grumble at the initial stage that it's such a nuisance that you need to adjust to such a change and adapt to this new technology. But nobody and no one will try to introduce something that will cause us inconvenient, though at the initial stage it may seems inconvenient because we are trying to get use to it! And at the beginning of every research project, the aim is to help improve life and to gain more knowledge of something that can help our lives. That is what makes me attracted to do research: Discover something that can help mankind!

It's because of research that we now have a better living standard, and a reduced in mortality rate. It's especially true in the area of healthcare. As we look back and compare the healthcare system from the past and now, we would realise the difference. The way we work, the type of medication we use, the new technology available to detect and diagnose diseases and the types of surgical intervention available has all changed.

All these would not have been possible if not for that person or that team who started the research to find out the possibility of it working!

However, not all research is 100% accurate and some might not turn out to be beneficial for all. And researchers don't get the answer or solution overnight! They need years and years of findings before a conclusion can be made depending on the type of research they are working on. It a tedious work and we should not rush to get an answer as it will affect the accuracy of the result. On top of that researcher must have the integrity as well. Some time due to the pressure from the outside world, certain information maybe compromise. So they must keep check of themselves.

Though I am a very quiet person when I was young or at least from what I remember about myself, I always have a lot of questions running through my head even up to now but there is no one who can actually answer all my questions. And I might be quiet during a meeting, but that doesn't mean that I am not thinking. I am just observing, evaluating and analyzing in my head. I find my ways to answer my own questions.

It not just getting the answer to my question fulfilling, but sharing the information I found exciting! Because I know these information will help some one else! :)

Looking forward to do some really good research in 2012! :)
