Recently, I have been reading this book Captivating by JOHN ELDREDGE. This book starts me on a journey to discover God's love for me, and bring me into a journey of emotional healing; addressing the issues that are so close to my heart.
First, I learn about what God had created me for and how important I am as a woman in HIS creation plan. Woman nourish life. And they also bring life into the world soulfully, relationally, spiritually-in everything they touch. Eve means "life"or "life producer". Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all living. Satan know that this is a threat to him, so he hated woman and will do anything to deceive us, woman, into believing we are not good enough, there is no man who will love us, or we are just not beautiful at all.
Secondly, God LOVES me, and He pursue me with an everlasting love! Like a lover pursuing his lover. He always know what is close to my heart, my desire. He will just show me his creation and I will just be so captivated by it, and it touches my heart. The things that He created is so beautiful, magnificent, glorious and mind-blowing that no words can describe it.
I once dreamt of going to Australia and always wonder how does the pacific ocean looks and feels like. I never thought I would have a chance to travel there, but God made a way for me and I finally went and get to experience the life there. Though it a short trip with the school, it a gift from God. And I enjoy ever bit of it. I get to feel the breeze of the ocean and touch the fine grained sand on the seashore, it amazing! This is the small little things God did to captivate my heart and draw me closer to Him. This is not the only example. There are too many for me to list down.
Thirdly, beauty comes when our heart is not striving. We must be at ease with ourselves. We must address the wound in our heart, ask God to heal those areas that has been bugging and affecting us. Ask God to show us our beauty. One important thing, we must not let anyone validate our life! He/She can't tell you who you are, only the one and true creator-God can validate you because He created you, not man! Don't go looking for things, people, theory to validate your life because you can never find true meaning of your life. Look to the LORD for your meaning in life.
Lastly, beauty invites, offers mercy, isn't demanding, it deepens a relationship. ;)

Managing expectation
Yesterday a friend of mine was complaining to me about how frustrated she was about this guy who just can't match up to what was expected of him as a leader or a man.
I can empathize with her frustration. But what kept me thinking was this: Firstly, are we putting too much expectation on a person? Secondly, why should they be obligated to keep to our expectation?
I come to realize that everyone of us have our own expectation we want to meet, and these expectation are different for every individual one of us. So my expectation might not be the same as yours. Maybe for me by doing A, B, and C I can achieve D, but to you, by doing B, C, and A you can achieve D. So no point getting all upset and work up when people don't meet our expectation.
And people are not obligated to follow our expectation. We all have our freedom to choose! God gave us the freedom to choose in life as well. We don't have the right to ask someone else to follow what we do. But one thing we can do is to show them by our lifestyle. The way you lead your life produces good result. When people see the fruit of your labour, they might follow.
So the next time when you meet some one and they don't meet your expectation, don't get frustrated. They have a different expectation from yours and they are not obligated to meet up to your expectation. Let your lifestyle show them what is right! ;)

Love my church
It the season of the year that I think a lot. Maybe the year is coming to an end soon, and a season to evaluate the year.
I can't imagine a life without God. For without HIM, I am nothing.
Really thank God for City Harvest Church. Despite of the many negative comments and things that happened, I never regret joining this church. It's where I really found and learn to know this Amazing God that I serve, and where I found my life's destiny and purpose.
It's a place where I learn more about myself, a place for dreams to be realized, a place for success to be celebrated, a place where I find peace, joy, love and hope, a place I learn about faith, perseverance, courage and loyalty, a place that I can exercise my natural talent and spiritual gifts! Many life's lessons gained; I can't find it any where else except here.
I feel really honored to be able to serve God together with the amazing leaders He had placed in my life. Pst Kong, Sun, Pst Tan, Pst Zhuang, Xue Ling, Jie Ying, Wendy Goh, Ariel, Qiu Ping, Mikki, Bee Leng. Thank God for you guys! I have grown in my walk with God because of your love, sacrifice and dedication to the church. You guys have been my inspiration in life.
It's amazing how God has seen me through all these years. I am loving HIM more and more each day. I believe no matter what obstacles may come my way, God will continue to see me through, and I know and I know at the end of the day, I will grow stronger!!! I love you, JESUS.

Need sth new in life!!! Getting bored
Really feel like going overseas!!! Wanna breakout of this mundane lifestyle. Wanna experience the life out of Sg. Wanna experience the lifestyle and culture of a different setting!
Been browsing through my friend overseas photos, those places are so beautiful that moved me to tears!!! So envious of them!
Places I hope to go:
1) Hiking in Asia
2) England
3) Italy
4)Australia: Sydney n Melbourne
5) USA: NYC
6) Korea
7) Japan
8) Hong Kong
9) Taiwan
10) China
But before going there I want to get myself a DSLR camera to capture all the beautiful places! Hope by the time I am financially stable to go to these places!

Grateful to God!
Today attended a training course in the hospital on handling aggressive patient. The speaker shared and compared sth about Australia's health care system and Singapore's health care system. He talks about how drug abusers are given the right to take controlled drugs in public and it's so common to see Sharp boxes place in the toilet for these abusers to use them. Even when handling them as a patient in the hospital is so different from Singapore.
I find it quite worrying because many problems can arise due to the misuse of these controlled drugs, such as increase risk of getting infected with AIDS, Social problems and the many harmful effects of the drugs to the body.
I am thankful that in Singapore drugs or controlled drugs are strictly regulated. There isn't too much drug abuse case, no doubt there are many cases in Singapore, but it's not as common as in some countries. Even though there are cases of abuse, these abusers will be punished by law. I feel safe here!

So many things I wanna do!!!
1. Clear my debts
2. Go fly kite with good weather
3. Slim down to 58kg
4. Parents and younger brother to come to Christ
5. Fulfill my promise to people I promise to (Hate to break my promises. Please be patient with me.)
6. Go Taiwan or Hong Kong with family for a short trip
7. Treat Godma to nice a meal or buy sth nice for her (Feels that she is too nice to me le must do sth for her to make her happy!!! hehe)
8. Want to get a pair of contact lens
9. Cut and straighten my hair
10. Trans Americaya!!!!

What it takes to be somebody's wife
So many questions keep popping in my head... Am I cut-out to be that person's lifelong partner, the type of guy I always wanted? Recently, have been thinking alot, and I realise I got so many flaws, no wonder I can't find a boyfriend... Hai... God, I am getting impatient again... Sorry. Lol!
Things I wanna focus to change myself:
1) Slim down another 6kg by Dec 2010
2) Improve my communication skills (Be bold, say what I mean and mean what I say, explain myself well to reduce misunderstanding) in the area of family, workplace and friendship.
3) Don't be selfish cos I think sometimes I am rather selfish. Eg: If I have free time, I rather spend it for myself and not really on other, unless really no choice. Very selfish right? But I am so busy that many times I don't even have time for myself. So when there is a chance to rest, I want it for my own. Time like this, esp when I am tired, I just feel like being alone. So don't talk to me or ask me to do things, I will get super frustrated, though I can still put up a smile on my face, it doesn't mean I am happy doing it. At times I will flare up, esp to my parents (aiyo, this is so bad). Everytime after I flare up, I feel so bad. So now I pray that God will teach me to be slow to anger and quick to listen! Is sth I want to change also.
That all for now... Wondering should I post up the 10qualities I am looking for in a man that I am looking out for? Should I should I not.... Lol... So funny!!!
